Eco-Branding and Awareness of environmental problems

In the last few years, environmental sustainability became an important global topic that involved governments, companies, and consumers.

UN (United Nations) defined 17 goals for environmental sustainability to be achieved by 2030 globally by all member countries. This means that every country on the planet is called to make its contribution to tackling these challenges. Every brand also needs to contribute and participate by making their commercial process a more ecologically friendly one. Eco-branding is the activity that every brand would need to promote using more ecological packaging and process to reduce carbon footprint.  Brands will also be asked to promote responsible consumption, avoiding overconsumption and waste.

Eco-Branding involves all the processes, from the design, manufacturing, logistics, point of sale, and communication/brand awareness.

The are many ways we can help you embark on this journey. Small simple steps that can make a big change:

  • the choice of typeface, which should be legible, not only good to look at, should be a font that promotes less ink usage.
  • The choice of paper/materials, to help reduce deforestation
  • Using alternative recycled options or material originating from sustainable forests.
  • Using fewer colours to reduce the quantity of ink necessary for the print
  • re-think and reduce single-use packaging.
  • Eliminate single-use plastic

The principal motivations for Brands s regarding environmental issues are: competitiveness, legitimisation, and ecological responsibility.
